The Prestoungrange Ceiling

The painted ceiling inside the James Fewell Bar takes inspiration from the ceiling of Prestongrange House, which dates back to 1581. It’s believed to be the earliest example of a Renaissance painted ceiling in Scotland. You can view the original ceiling at Merchiston Tower by appointment.

Andrew Crummy incorporated some images from the original ceiling and created his own to complement them.
