Witches Mural

Just along the High Street from the Prestoungrange Gothenburg, where the Witches Experience is, stands another mural dedicated to Prestonpans’ witches. It shows the trial of the alleged witches from Prestonpans in the Tolbooth in Edinburgh. James VI sits in judgement as women are forced to the ground in front of him.

This mural, painted by Tom Ewing, has been used as a backdrop for ‘Witch!’, a play that tells the story of the 81 Prestonpans men and women who were accused of witchcraft.
