The Kinetic Structure

The sculpture was created by Frank Chorley and erected in 1963. Each of its three parts symbolises a different part of the area’s history. The first part is a waveform that represents the connection with the sea. The second part commemorates mining. The third part reminds us of the influnece history has had on current landscapes.
